Ooops -- another rabbit trail ...

I can't wait till the weather turns cooler and our thoughts move to a cooler clime (this when the Front Range temp, at 10:42 pm, is 78!). Thanks to Elizabeth over at 4real, I so want to go on a Beatrix Potter unit study/rabbit trail ... here are the resources I'd use this time around:

We already own the Collected Works and we love watching the ballet, so these should round out a unit nicely, don't you think?

Have you done a Beatrix Potter unit? Have you had your kids draw like Miss Potter? What resources have you found that would fill out this unit study?

Blessings and prayers,

We haven't done BP unit - but it sounds good. I haven't seen the movie but two of my teens have and they enjoyed it.

Right now we are finishing off a Bridge to Terabithia unit and will probably explore a Harry Potter unit next - love literature rabbit trails!

Leonie -- I LOVE lit rabbit trails too ... there's usually so much you can "hang" things on .... BP is a great lead in to nature journals and nature studies that I'm going to use this for our nature kick-off (especially since I'm SOOOO nature challenged!).

I'll look for your posts on a Harry Potter unit ... love to hear what you'll do with that.

We'll join you! I've been thinking along these lines since I saw Elizabeth's post. The Beatrix Potter Journal is a wonderful resource!

So it sounds like between you and Leonie the "Potter" unit studies will be covered!

We did one a couple years ago when the girls were small. We are looking forward to joining you with this one.

We are doing more watercolors, herbs, animals and more indepth nature study. I will let the girls take the lead, these are their suggestions for the study.
